About Us

Nicci Cammack founded NorthPoint Pets & Company to fill a void for pet parents: information and transparency. Nicci understood that, while there are countless pet stores and unending opportunities for buying online, much of the information about pet food and health is incomplete, biased, or misleading.

Nicci’s father was a K9 police officer and through him, she developed a strong interest in and love for animals. Always asking questions and seeking to learn more, she forged a career in medicine and research. After a few years, she shifted her focus from human to animal, the catalyst of which was one of her own pets, Taser, who experienced severe gastrointestinal issues as a puppy.

Taser thrived after Nicci determined that diet was among the variables causing his symptoms. And after time, research, and building his customized diet, he made a full recovery.

Nicci completed several years of school and internships, providing the foundation she needed to advance her knowledge of animal nutrition.

In addition to university studies, Nicci attended several conferences and courses across the U.S., and internationally. She’s attended countless classes, done research, and conferred with pet food companies to learn more about their philosophy, sourcing and products.

Nicci has worked for large and small pharmaceutical companies on projects, including cancer research, diabetes, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease, and hepatitis. She’s obtained numerous professional certifications in pet nutrition, supplementation and complementary herbal therapies from institutions around the globe.

She’s worked alongside leading international figures in the pet health industry, and lectures at local and national pet organizations, including federal, state, and municipal K9, guide, and therapy dog teams on proper preventative nutrition and supplementation. She is also the canine preventative health nutrition resource for Police K9 Magazine, K9 Cop Magazine, and Connecticut Dog Magazine, and she contributes to numerous blogs on pet topics of nutrition and more.

Nicci’s professional interests include metabolic diseases, raw diets, nutritional impact on disease prevention, diet supplementation, and complementary diets for cancer treatment. She is also a:

Nicci’s husband Jamie is also an animal lover and they both enjoy spending time outdoors with their four dogs (Beau, a dachshund, Taser and Dasso — pitbulls — and Trinity, a German shepherd). They tend an extensive garden and also love reading and preparing fresh food, as well as traveling, and drinking tea and wine.

A certified holistic nutrition and wellness coach with several years of experience in nutritional and supplemental counseling, Chris Gindel Olin also has retail experience in the health food space and lives her passion of helping people (and pets) as a nutritional and wellness coach.

NorthPoint Pets is thrilled to have Chris on board and she is excited to help our clients support the health and well-being of their beloved furry family members.

Beth and her family have a cat named Timmy and two dogs: Ammo, a German shepherd, and Monica, a black lab, both of whom are retired from the Connecticut State Police. Beth’s family adopted Monica upon retirement from the force. When she learned Monica had extreme food allergies, she sought help at NorthPoint Pets and was thrilled by the positive impact it had on Monica’s health. Beth enjoys helping others better their animals’ health and has been a member of the team ever since meeting Nicci.

Melissa has four cats: Stitch, Stoli, Razzy, and Dually, as well as two dogs: Bella and Buddy. She can’t remember a point in her life when animals weren’t part of it. At 19, she adopted her first dog: a scared and shy shepherd mix from a local shelter.

After bringing the dog home, her wonderful personality soon emerged. It was then that Melissa vowed to never buy any animal from a pet store. She says she “truly became a pet parent, and these were my children.” She also learned her love for all animals runs deep and was not just limited to just cats. She is a certified dog nutritionist and is working on receiving her certification in cat nutrition.

Leah joined the team in 2018 with several years of experience in the industry. Her dog Echo is a shepherd mix who she adopted at four months. She also has a cat (Siren) who accompanies her to work every day.

Leah also has several parrots and reptiles in her pack, as well as an extensive knowledge of exotic animals. With experience in dog training and as an avid raw feeder, she is knowledgeable in transitioning, feeding, and supplementing with various raw foods for cats and dogs.

Ashley is the proud owner of two Dachshunds, one Yorkie, and three cats. She has a degree in music and is currently working on another in human resources.

Ashley is also Nicci’s sister and shares the same love and affinity for animals. She’s extremely knowledgeable in the products we carry, and helps customers find the perfect diet for pets — even those with unique dietary needs.

Tina has been working at NorthPoint Pets since 2017. Her dog Petey lived in a kennel for two years (as part of a cruelty case), after which she adopted him as a foster.

She thought he was too small for her liking, but after falling in love with his huge personality, she decided to keep him. They’ve been a pair ever since. Tina met Nicci while volunteering at a rescue operation in 2012. In addition to managing the front of the store, you can find Tina completing orders and keeping the store organized.

Morgan Hunt is a sales associate at NorthPoint Pets and veterinary assistant/technician at Branford Veterinary Hospital. 

She’s enrolled in a veterinary technician program at San Juan College and is studying to become a certified technician. She owns a Pit Mix (Tyson) and a Dalmatian (Pongo), and both keep her on her toes every day.

Sales associate Caitlin Regan is a cheerleader for her high school (the class of 2020). She has three sisters, one of whom is a twin. She also has three dogs — a chihuahua, a pure-bred German Shepard, and a German Shepard Malinois mix — and one cat. She’s a very active person who enjoys long hikes and walks with family and friends.

Nikki is the actual definition of animal lover, with pitties holding a special place in her heart. She and her husband have two fun loving, loyal, and pitties of her own. She has always aspired to help all animals, involving herself in animal rescue, rehoming and taking care of those who need a little extra attention. She also enjoys baking, gardening, biking and Yankees Baseball!  When she’s not working you can find her spending time with her dogs, and finding new ways to build the bond her and her husband have with their dogs. 

A sales associate at NorthPoint Pets, Pam loves all creatures great and small but has always allowed cats to own her.  Currently mom to three rescues: Shea (a black cat), Tug (a grey and white Maine Coon) and Mookie (a grey tabby).

As a longtime radio broadcaster, Pam has interviewed and worked with many of our local animal shelters and organizations.  After conducting a radio interview with Nicci, she knew she wanted to join the outstanding team at NorthPoint Pets.
